This expansion must be played with Power Grid and is compatible with the previous map expansions. The expansion is a new set of power plant cards which may be used in several ways: 
1.use the new deck instead of the original . 
2.use both decks, but just one of each number, chosen randomly . 
3.use the original deck, adding the larger numbered plants from the new deck . 
4.customize your own power plant deck using the two decks .

The expansion is not a complete game, but must be played with the basic game.
